Event Generators
“Physics event generators are an essential component of the data processing and analysis chain of the LHC experiments. All of the scientific results of the LHC experiments, such as precision measurements of physics parameters and searches for new physics, depend significantly on the comparison of experimental measurements to theoretical predictions, in most cases computed using generator software” (from A. Valassi, E. Yazgan, J. McFayden, et al. “Challenges in Monte Carlo Event Generator Software for High-Luminosity LHC”, Comput. Softw. Big Sci. 5 (2021) 12 ).
